. If roster space is available at your child's age, a supplemental tryout will be given to him/her.
Q. Does my child have to tryout each year?
A. Yes, each player must tryout every year for the club.
Q. Can my child practice or play with one of their friend's team if their schedule allows for it?
A. Once a player is signed with a travel club for the soccer year, they are not permitted to participate in ANY soccer related activity with another travel club without express written permission from their PSC coach. The state organization, IYSA, has very strict regulations that each club is held to.
Q. When are games played?
A. Games are typically played on Sundays, with 9-10 games each season. There are also some games played on Saturdays, depending on the particular team. Occasionally, there are weeknight games, but they are usually only held when making up for a game cancelled by inclement weather.
Q. How far will I have to travel for games?
A. Each team is different due to their respective league seeding them in divisions where teams have similar abilities. Typically though, there are multiple divisions at each skill level, and the leagues try to seed teams geographically within each skill level. Most games will be within a 30-40 minute drive from Oswego, but anywhere in the Chicagoland area is possible.
Q. How far will I have to travel for tournaments?
A. This varies based on the individual team. One tournament, sponsored by PSC on Memorial Day weekend, is held here in Oswego. Other tournaments thoughout the year are decided upon by the team's parent coach. Usually, the coach involves the entire team to determine interest and availability for different tournaments. These can be in Illinois or in surrounding states.
