In their first game of the spring season, the Crush lived up to their name with a dominating 10-2 road win over the Naperville Huskies. On the attack from the starting whistle, Abby Fioersi missed on two quick scoring opportunities, but recovered scoring a goal in each half. Kacie Moran started the scoring just two minutes into the game with a solo shot into the corner. She picked up a second goal off an assist from Fioresi. Nicole Kraemer led the team in scoring with a hat trick for the day. She opened with a put back off one of Moran's shots. Guest player Kaylee Zimblemann played a solid game and tallied a goal for herself, giving the Crush a 5-1 lead going into the half.
In the second half Kara Blasingame left the net to play midfield and dropped two in the net, one off an assist from Kraemer. Blasingame led the team in assists, setting up scores for Kraemer and Fioersi and opportunities for Brandt and Sendef. Emily Brandt doubled as a defender and striker, taking several near miss shots on goal. Jessica Sendef worked hard on both sides of the ball but also came up short in several attempts on goal. Maya Trichardt played a solid game on both ends as a utility player with some very nice crosses. Megan Rasmussen played an aggressive first half as a defender and had a solid performance in the net for the first time in league play. Corey Welch rounded things out with stellar defense and picked up where she left off in the fall with very solid play! Fifty minutes of teamwork led the team to their largest margin of victory to date.
