General Updates
We were finally able to start the season after the unfortunate rain out of the Rockford Tournament and I know the girls were disappointed we could not play in it but they have started the season off well none the less.  The girls are showing much improvement in first touch and passing.  The referees in both of our first two games commented on how well the girls passed and controlled the ball.  We are seeing much better first touches and vision of the field.  We have been working on through passes and the girls have been applying them on the field with some success.
Encourage the girls to work on juggling it is the best method to improve their first touch on the ball. When watching the game see how a good first touch leads to good things no matter how many opposing players are around and how a bad first touch can lead to trouble no matter how few players are around. As the weather becomes warmer make sure the girls are hydrating before the game drinking water a couple of hours before the game will help them be hydrated and avoid cramps.
Tournament Update
Based on responses we will be attending the Peoria River City Soccer Classic Jun 14-15.  Mark your calendars.   The cost will be about $40.00 per player.  I will be locating a Hotel and blocking rooms for those that wish to stay down in Peoria during the tournament.  We were in the River City Classic two years ago and it was a very nice tournament that should offer a challenge for the girls and be a good way to end the spring season.
