The U10 Prowlers played their second game of the year on Sunday May 4 against the Fox Valley Warriors and did not disappoint. Chase Bruns opened up the scoring in the opening minutes of the game with a shot from the right side to put the Prowlers up 1-0. The rest of the first half had the Prowlers pressuring the ball but unable to do any damage. Hunter Short, Jackson Simon, Timmy Mackey, Craig Schlegel and Ben Sapet all kept the Warriors Red from having many chances on goal as they played great defense for the Prowlers. The Warriors were able to get one good shot towards the end of the first half to tie the score at halftime 1-1. The second half opened up with the Prowlers much more aggressive towards the ball and able to control the ball most of the half. Mitch Blocker scored the second goal of the game for the Prowlers on a Penalty kick after his was tripped in the box on a breakaway. Minutes later Mitch Kearby had a nice left footed shot in the bottom corner to put the Prowlers up 3-1. Chase Bruns continued his torrid pace and scored his second goal of the game to put the Prowlers up 4-1. The Warriors added a goal late to make the final score 4-2. Jacob Hoopes played a great game on defense and midfield and Owen Flynn played a great game up at Striker for the Prowlers. Cody Gotchie is continuing great play in goal as well as on defense for the Prowlers. This truly was a TEAM effort for the Prowlers who started the season 2-0. The next home games for the Prowlers are Thursday May 8 at 6:15 at PrarieFestPark and also at 1:00 on Saturday during Panther Palooza at PrarieFestPark.
