Match Report: Hawks v. Pursuit 6:1
Sunday, 21 June 2009 06:58

The game was rather equally matched during the first 25 minutes. Both sides were fighting hard, but neither created many scoring opportunities. Pursuit’s Jakob Slavin had the best chance of the first half in the 7th minute.  He already beat the Hawks’ keeper after one quick counter attack by the Pursuit, but the Hawks’ defense managed to kick the ball off the goal line. The Hawks took lead in the 15th minute of the game almost by accident, after their 20-yard shot surprised the Pursuit keeper. Few minutes later Ryan Baumann had one-on-one chance to equalize the score, but the Hawks’ keeper denied his shot. During the last five minutes of the first half the Pursuit game fell apart, as they conceded three more goals for 4:0 Hawks’ lead.

In the second half Hawks quickly scored for 5:0 in the 6th minute. The Pursuit were able to  get one goal back in the 10th minute via Jakob Slavin, who slid the ball behind Hawks keeper after long pass by Adrian Veseli. After this goal Hawks continued dominating the match. They had several very good opportunities, but managed to score only one more time in the 27th minute for their well-deserved 6:1 victory.
