The game did not start well for the Pursuit, as they were down 2:0 in the 3rd minute of the first half. However, the Pursuit were not discouraged by their opponents quick lead, and in the 6th minuteTyler DeBoer mixed Rivers’ defense in their own box and scored for 2:1 by a shot into the lower right corner of the goal. Three minutes later Jakob Slavin equalized by a nice header following Michael Panek’s corner kick. The Rivers quickly got back in the lead with two goals in the 16th and 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Adrian Veseli gave his team new hope by scoring for 4:3 with an excellent 20-yard lob shot. The last few minutes of the first half did not bring any more score changes, but we have to mention very good defensive play by Adam Jenkins who cleared several dangerous situations in front of the Pursuit box.
In the second half we’ve seen completely different game in which the Pursuit side completely fell apart allowing their opponents to easily get into their box and create numerous scoring opportunities. The Rivers secured their victory by scoring three goals in the period between the 5th and 7th minutes. The only play by the Pursuit that was worth mentioning happened in the 10th minute when Jakob Slavin earned penalty kick for his team, and managed to convert it into goal for 7:4. During the remaining 20 minutes the Rivers scored three more goals for a well-deserved 10:4 win.
