Orange Crush Continue Win Streak
Monday, 27 September 2010 14:57

On an overcast and windy Sunday, the PSC Orange Crush hosted the Kickers United club from Elgin.  While there wasn't much excitement to the game, the Crush still went about business as usual dominating time of possession with the ball and field position.  Nine different players would account for 23 shots on goal for the Lady Panthers vs just one for the Kickers. In the 11th minute of play, Rylynn McCaw set herself up in front of the Kickers goalie and tapped in a rebound shot from a corner taken by Brianna Welch.  Then at the 17 minute mark, Abby Fioresi scored on one of her multiple shots.  it was a slow day for the Crush keepers so Megan Rasmussen had the opportunity to at forward and did a remarkable job of applying pressure up front, setting up crosses, and hustling. Alexis Henz also stepped up her play with a very solid defensive effort, continually forcing the Kicker attackers to cough up the ball. The pace of the game was slow but it allowed the Crush to implement many of the tactics they been working on recently in practice. With a 2-0 win, the Orange Crush remain undefeated as they head to Rois Park in Aurora next week to play Team Chicago Wildcats.
