Stars Lose First Game of Fall Season
Monday, 13 September 2010 14:14

On Sunday, the Stars hosted a well-known opponent, Galaxy Blue.  While the Stars have taken care of Galaxy in the past, it just did not happen this time.  The scoring started with Galazy Blue scoring when a Stars' defensive player was caught out of position.  Galaxy's forward snuck behind the Stars' defender and took a nice pass and deposited the ball right into the net.  The Stars evened up the game after Riley Cassian was fouled.  Kaylee Zimbelmann kicked the ball right in front of the net, where Holly Sutkay was able to place it right past the keeper.

Despite the Stars hard play, they allowed two more goals.  In an attempt to create more scoring opportunities in the second half, Angeline Lewis was moved from defense to offense.  The switch paid off when she scored and cut the deficit to one goal. Unfortunately, the Stars ran out of time and ended up losing 2-3.  Hopefully the Stars will pull it together for this weekend's Great Lakes Soccer Tournament.  They will be facing tough competition which will give them a great test.  Good luck Stars!
