In game two, against the St. Croix SC Red team, that traveled almost six hours from Minnesota, the two teams battled back and forth. Despite multiple opportunities, neither team could score and the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Great goal keeping by Maya Bonie and Lauren Gotchie and stifling defense by the usual defenders combined to keep a second team from scoring a goal. Morgan Brown, a guest player from the Comets, played very well and showed solid soccer skills throughout the game and tournament. The Stars thank her for her help.

Game three featured the Stars against CL Force Premier from Crystal Lake. The two teams battled for a while before Kaylee Zimbelmann managed to put a beautiful corner kick on Riley Cassian’s head. Riley missed the header, but cleaned up the rebound for the 1-0 lead. Holly Sutkay, who missed the first two games, showed how important she can be by finishing a nice pass from Rachel Savaglio for the 2-0 lead. Late in the second half, the Force managed a goal, which turned out to be the only goal allowed by the Stars in the tournament. The Stars held the lead and put continuous pressure on the Force with great contributions from Haley Brewer, Morgan Loncala, and Nicole Alvarez. Thanks to the effort of all the players, the Stars won 2-1.

In the championship game, the Stars took on FV Strikers, a team in they defeated 1-0 a week earlier in a regular season game. The Stars struck early when Morgan Loncala centered a ball to Rachel Savaglio who easily put it in with her left foot. Mia Lakstigala then nailed a hard shot at the keeper that rebounded to Rachel for the easy score. Late in the game, Riley Cassian controlled the ball in the middle of the box and nailed it just under the crossbar for the final goal in the Stars 3-0 victory. Congratulations to the Stars for winning the championship!
