This past weekend the PSC U-11 Orange Crush played host to the Glen Ellyn Lakers on Saturday and the Plainfield Legends on Sunday. The Crush struggled to find their offense against the Lakers and went down scoreless, losing 4-0. Sunday the fortunes were reversed against the Legends. The Crush conceded a quick goal but quickly regained their focus and began pressuring the ball. In the early minutes of the second period, the Crush took a one goal lead and spent the rest of the period defending it. Kacie Moran and Taylor Peck each scored twice. After a solid effort as sweeper, Rylynn McCaw played a phenomenal second period in the net, stopping numerous shots that would have given the Legends the lead. Abby Fioresi and Alyssa Radakovich did a great job of setting up penetrating passes to create the scoring opportunities. Cori Welch controlled the middle of the field going both directions. She was supported in the backfield with the strong defensive efforts of Camryn Beyers and Emily Brandt. Rachel Mittlestaedt played goal and had a physical game playing at defender and midfield. A special thanks to Jessica Sendef, Nicole Kraemer, and Alexis Henz for guesting with us and working w/peck as our utility players of the game. The Crush finished their efforts with a 4-3 victory.
