Monday, 26 April 2010 21:21

The U11 Prowlers opened up their Spring season by traveling to Minooka to play a very good 3 Rivers Soccer Club team.  In the fall season the 3 Rivers team won a hard fought game 2-1.  The Prowlers were looking to avenge the loss during the fall season and they did not disappoint!! The Prowlers came out strong and kept the early pressure on and were able to break through with a nice shot by Chris Grober to give the Prowlers an early 1-0 lead.  Minutes later Gabe Lopez was tripped in the box and converted a penalty shot to give the Prowlers a 2-0 lead.  The defense was led by Hunter Short, Jackson Frazer, Adrian Veseli and Micheal Panek who kept the 3 Rivers team at bay with some brilliant defense and some great passing to start the offensive attack.  The midfield led by Mitch Blocker, Tim Mackey, Tyler DeBoer and Grober kept the pressure on the whole first half.  Grober was able to put another goal in after a 25yd free kick found the back of the net.  Then Panek found the back of the net on a breakaway to give the Prowlers a 4-0 lead at half.  The second half was more of the same for the Prowlers.  Mitch Kearby and Jakob Slavin continued to provide pressure and great passing up front for the Prowlers.  Chase Bruns and Veseli played a great game in goal with a combined shut out and Nathan Molina provided the Prowlers with their last goal of the day with a very nice shot to the bottom corner of the goal.  The final score was 5-0 Prowlers as they achieved their first win in the Gold division against a very good team.
