The Prowlers U11 Soccer team had a mixed week. They first played Jambuc on Monday night and lost 5-0. The Prowlers came out and played well the first half and had numerous shots on goal. Hunter Short, Adrian Veseli, Jackson Frazer and Michael Panek played a very good defense the first half limiting the shots and/or oppurtunites for the Jambuc team. The midfield of Mitch Blocker, Tim Mackey, Tyler DeBoer and Chris Grober kept up the pressure and had some very nice crosses. The score at half was 0-0. The second half was all Jambuc. They scored 5 unanswered goals and won the game 5-0. Jakob Slavin, Mitch Kearby, Chase Bruns, Gabe Lopez and Nathan Molina kept the pressure up in the second half but the Prowlers could not find a goal.
On Sunday the Prowlers traveled to Naperville to take on another good team in Ajax. This game the Prowlers were trying to get back on the winning track. The first goal of the game was scored by Ajax. Minutes later Lopez made a brilliant one on one move and then deposited one in the back of the net to tie the score 1-1. Then the Prowlers took over. Kearby put a goal in after that on a brilliant hustle play, Blocker made a nice shot to the back of the net to put the Prowlers up 3-1. Then Bruns deposited a loose ball in the back of the net and lastly Grober had a nice shot to put the Prowlers up comfortably 5-1 and the final score was 5-3 Prowlers. Again the Prowlers had some great defense by Short, Frazer, Panek and DeBoer. Veseli and Bruns played a great game in goal. Slavin and Molina provided constant pressure up front as well. This gave the Prowlers a 2-1 mark early in the year. A home game on Sunday May 9 at 3 at PrairieFest Park in Oswego.
