The U11 Prowlers played 3 games this past weekend. The had a Friday night tilt against Team Chicago.Both team were alittle chilly on the night. The Team Chicago Team scored two goals in the first half. The offense of the Prowlers was trying to start attacks against the Team Chicago team but through the wind and temperature they were not able to mount much till Gabe Lopez made a great move and shot past the goalie to make the game 2-1. The Prowlers received some good team play by Tyler DeBoer, Adrian Veseli, Hunter Short, Chris Grober, Mitch Blocker, Mitch Kearby, Chase Bruns, Jackson Franzer, Tim Mackey. Jakob Slavin, Nathan Molina and Michael Panek. The defense held strong until the Prowlers tryed to move up addiontial players to generate some offense. The final score was Team Chicago 4 Prowlers 1.
The Prowlers were able to play on Saturday in Crown Point, Indiana. This game saw the Prowlers work the ball wide and use the whole field and a win. Lopez opened up the scoring followed by Grober, Slavin and then Grober again. A great team effort passing the ball and using several different runs down the sides. Grober had two great shots for goals and Slavin was in perfect position to drill one past the goalie. Short, Frazer and Panek did a great job on defense and Molina and Mackey won every ball the went for to help start offensive attacks.
The last game of the weekend was a Mothers Day tilit against the same Indiana team that the Prowlers just beat the day before. This time the Prowlers scored 5 minutes into the game on a Blocker cross and a Grober volley into the net. Kearby had a shot earmarked for the corner of the goal but it hit the crossbar and stayed out. DeBoer and Molina each almost headed a goal in and Bruns and Veseli combined for a shutouot in goal. This gave the Prowlers a 4-2 mark on the year with only two games left in the Spring Gold Season.
