Stars Defeat Galaxy Black
Sunday, 28 February 2010 19:23
On Sunday, the Stars took on Galaxy Black.  The Stars won the game 13-1 although they played girls in different positions after going into halftime with a 5-0 lead.  Notably, Riley Cassian and Brittni Ice managed to get 3 goals apiece.  Rachel Savaglio and Kaylee Zimbelmann each added 2 goals.  Kaylee scored her 2 goals only playing a few minutes of offense.  More importantly, Holly Gotchie and Angeline Lewis, strong defenders, each managed to score.  Holly's goal was her first of the indoor season and came when she raced upfield to track down a ball and drilled it into the right side of the net.  Angeline's goal came when she one-touched a ball low and into the left side of the net.  As usual, Maddie Woolf and the other defenders played very well, only giving up the one goal.  Holly Sutkay also netted a goal in the game.  Maya Bonie and Lauren Gotchie did very well in the multiple positions they were asked to play.  The Stars remain in first place and remain undefeated in the indoor season, scoring 50 goals and only allowing 7 goals in 8 games.
